Channel weaves http://www.nwagility.com/m/aa One of the newest methods to training the weave poles that is gaining in popularity is the "channel method", in which two parallel rows of weave poles are put side by side, but offset in such a way that the dog has a center "channel" to run down.  At first your dog is not weaving (just getting a treat by running through to the other end).  But by slowly bringing the poles closer together, inch-by-inch, your dog will begin to weave without him even knowing it! Comp Steel See Saw Base http://www.nwagility.com/m/aa If you're serious about dog agility, you'll love the quality of this competition base.  Constructed of quality welded steel constructed as one piece, it folds up against the board for easy and compact storage.  It weighs about 30 lbs, which is good for shipping, yet very sturdy for training and competition.  It is also adjustable - so you can easily set it as low as 12" to train beginner dogs or up to 24" for standard training.The base is powder-coated in Royal Blue over-baked enamel (not aqua blue as it seems in the picture).  The pivoting fulcrum meets standard for AKC tension.  The side-bars extend past the width of the plank so the dog sees the center point.  The ends of the feet are capped, and the chain (for height adjustment) is rated very high. Triple Jump http://www.nwagility.com/m/aa The triple jump is an obstacle that most people add to their course later on, but more often than not, it is an obstacle that many dogs stumble over in an agility trial!  The challenge is for your dog to clear the jump by not only jumping high, but *long*.  This is also why it is sometimes called a "Spread Jump" (except technically a spread jump is a little more lenient in the placement of the bars, but the principle is the same). 80 What you see in the picture is a Triple Jump set at the height of 16".  The back bar is 16", the center bar is set 8" apart (and a little lower), and the bottom bar another 8" apart (and again a little lower).  So basically, the dog must jump 16" high, AND 16" wide.  The rule is to space your bars half the distance of your dog's jump height.  So if your dog jumps 24", you space your bars 12" apart, AND in a descending order. http://www.affordableagility.com/images/triple.JPG
